The Fun Rental in Sahuarita

An ode to our favorite party house! It's so wonderful to have a completly furnished home to play in each summer. Gone are the years of begging landlords to rent to us for a month in Flagstaff. In the early years, we were able to find furnished apartments but later we'd have to set up camp - literally, we used camping gear in empty apartments. We still had wonderful, magical, glorious times in Flagstaff but it is nice to know we could move into the Finn's Sahuarita rental with a toothbrush and clothing and still have everything we need. They even let us use the pool belonging to their rental next door and added a special gate leading from one house to the other. It's a pretty house in a master planned community with many parks, schools, and even a lake.
This year was especially fun because Rachael was finally old enough to go with us for a month. Justin was also able to come so we had four tweeners who love each other, play well together, and who all have younger siblings so they were a lot of help. I couldn't have asked for a better bunch of kids. They swam, played, read, hiked, 4-wheeled, shot, trampolined, gamed & D&D'd.
We teasingly refer to this as the Rameumptom. Often family pray was given from the stairs because people were too sleepy to come down or climb up. The Rameumptom also offered great accoustics for our singers. This year and last we were entertained by selections from "Wicked", "Hair Spray" and many broadway tunes. This year, we also had mobile entertainment because Miranda plays the ukulele. The kids loved to sing "Hey Jude", "Viva la Vida", and "The Breakup Song", "All My Loving", "Girlfriend", and "Over the Rainbow".
Relaxing in the family room!
Gaming in the dining room!
I'm so grateful for the opportunity to visit Lin's family in AZ. We have been blessed every year to find housing and to have these wonderful bonding moments. We know it has strengthened our family to spend so much 24/7 time together with no distractions. Our children have gotten to know their Arizona grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins and love them.
